Bitcoin Plus
This is another little-known “bitcoin” of 2014. However, this year is only formally a start-up year. The developers held an ICO on the Poloniex exchange, which ended in scandal: some of them left the team, having embezzled the allocated funds. By the end of the year the currency’s capitalization had dropped from $600,000 to $10,000. XBC managed to restore its reputation only in 2015.
The main features of XBC are mining exclusively by PoS (although the network allows parallel PoW activation if necessary) and a very high transaction speed. It is 10 times higher than the original BTC, and so far higher than the updated BTC. The latter has a large speed margin thanks to the underutilized SegWit capabilities, but XBC is also regularly updated and considers itself a direct competitor to BTC.
Despite its improved reputation in 2015, XBC remained in the deep shadows of the crypto market for a long time. That changed in March 2017, when the currency’s capitalization rose from $300,000 to $7.3 million. Since then, XBC’s rate and capitalization have continued to rise, but at a much slower pace.
